Toroidal inductors and Transformers

Toroidal coils are used for high-frequency coils and transformers and typically consist of a circular-shaped magnetic core around which wire is coiled to make an inductor. Toroidal inductors can have higher inductance and Q factors than similarly constructed solenoid coils because of the smaller number of turns required when the core provides a close magnetic path.

Toroidal inductors are also essentially self-shielding because its magnetic flux is basically confined to the core, which prevents its energy from being absorbed by nearby objects. Self-shielding is a bonus from well-made, quality transformers, reducing hum and interference from outside sources, and Mitchell Products provides only high quality toroidal inductors and transformers, manufactured to fit customer specifications.
