High Voltage Power Supply
High voltage AC-DC power supplies provide regulated outputs for bench top or OEM use such as spectrometers, detectors, imaging, electron beam systems, projection television, X-ray systems, capacitor charging, laser systems and CRT systems. Current high voltage power supplies have many circuit and system variations such as single-phase and three-phase 208V inputs. Most high voltage power supplies also include power factor correction.
High voltage is usually generated either with a conventional switchmode power converter or a resonant high frequency inverter, and high voltage power supply outputs can range from 1kV to over 100kV and output power from watts to kilowatts.
Other features of high voltage power supplies are local and remote programming, fault indicators with safety interlock, overload protection and an enable voltage signal input for remote control. Most high voltage power supplies also offer protection against unpleasant things like arcs or output short circuits.
