Tips |
| Transformers need to breathe! So they should always be placed in areas which allow them to do so. There must always be a sufficient supply of free air flow around them, so never operate a transformer in a box, under furniture, or in any other enclosed area that would prohibit air flow. |
| Transformers work hard! And when we work hard, we get warm, right? So does a transformer. It will feel warm to the touch, so don't be alarmed. If your transformer is large enough to carry the load, it should not overheat and become damaged. |
| When in Rome - do as the Romans do. With electricity, it's not exactly a choice. You have to use a transformer to convert the flow of electricity to the proper operating level. As a rule of thumb, the US generally uses 120V 60Hz while much of Europe uses 230V 50Hz. |
